Tasty Tuesday ~ Cheese Biscuits

Red Lobster cheese biscuits 002

2 c Bisquick

2/3 c milk

1/2 c shredded cheddar cheese

Mix Bisquick and milk.  Stir in cheese.  Using ice cream scoop, spoon onto well greased cookie sheet.  Bake @ 450 degrees for 10 minutes.

While the biscuits are baking, melt 1/2 stick of butter with 1/4 tsp garlic powder.  As soon as biscuits are done, brush melted butter on the hot biscuits, then sprinkle with parsley flakes.

Makes 6 large biscuits.

Mmmm….yummy!

  1. Yummy, yummy, yummy. Now I'm hungry! And it's too late to make any...oh well. Guess I'll have to make them another day...and I will!

  2. Susan, I found this recipe on youtube and tried it the first time yesterday. They were very good, however, next time, I won't use an ice cream scoop because they were too big. It was like eating 2 biscuits at once... But, they sure did look pretty....

  4. Well, they do have it, but it's imported from Ireland and expensive beyond belief. Even geniune hunks of Parmesan cheese are cheaper. A pound of cheddar cheese costs about 15-20 dollars. So I think I will try your recipe with grated Swiss, which is very inexpensive in comparison. In fact Swiss cheese is the generic kind of cheese they use like cheddar in Germany. They even put it on pizza.

    1. I love Swiss cheese. I will try it.

I'm stunned at the cost of cheese. I always thought that European countries had many different types of cheese. Considering the many and varied flavors of cheese, I find that disappointing.

  5. They do, but it's really, really expensive. And they don't have Bisquick either. In fact, there is a serious lack of anything here that "comes in a box where you just add water". Don't worry though! I have a recipe for making my own Bisquick, and I'll use Swiss. It's the generic cheese they use for everything, including for pizza.

  6. My Mom was big on homemade mixes. She had one for biscuits and another for pie crust. I don't recall what others. Pancake, I think...

I like Swiss cheese, but I'm pretty sure I would not like it on pizza...
