The sidewalk that goes up to the bridge has several custom made bricks for persons in our neighborhood who, I assume, made contributions to the bridge restoration project a few years back. I enjoy reading the bricks because so many names are familiar names from my church and neighbors. The bricks on the other side of the street are somewhat a veteran memorial of neighborhood families. The restoration project was beautifully done, with wrought iron benches with wood slats. It's simply a beautiful place for a rest when I am out riding my bike.
Me too. I always look for that one brick and one other that says "Over the bridge to Oupa & Ouma's house we go". There are other interesting bricks, but those 2 are my favorites.
Sweet!!
